CARERS’ WEEK:

A carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid. Many carers don’t see themselves as carers, it can be difficult for carers to see their caring role as separate from the relationship they have with the person for whom they care, whether that relationship is as a parent, child, sibling, partner, or a friend.

Based in North Essex, Essex Carers Support has been assisting and supporting unpaid family carers since the 1990’s. Essex Carers Support are contacting community organisations and asking them to prepare for Carers Week by sharing information and making you aware of just one of our support services. Our Time 4 You Project is available to all carers (18+) who live in the Essex County Council area; we’d like to talk to them about the importance of self-care and assist them in planning some positive and rewarding time for themselves; something that reflects their own interests and is of their choosing. This can be done individually or, if preferred, can include the person/persons you care for… and we’ll pay for it too!  We can support with paying for an opportunity to help you achieve ‘Time 4 You’ … up to £100!!

In return we just ask that the carer gives us some feedback about its impact and effectiveness.  For information see posters in church or contact: ESSEX CARERS SUPPORT Phone: (01255) 474410 Email:   This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
