Current regulations remain in force for next weekend but are expected to be lifted on 19th July.

New guidance can be expected from the Bishops’ Conference with regard to churches and liturgy on questions such as face coverings in enclosed spaces, singing, the use of shared materials such as hymn books etc. 

It is likely that some liturgical practices that involve close contact, such as the sign of peace or reception of the chalice, may not resume immediately.
