15TH SUNDAY OF YEAR 15TH SUNDAY OF YEAR Jesus sends out the Twelve to preach repentance and to heal the sick Jesus sends out the Twelve to preach repentance and to heal the sick

“Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven in Christ.  Before the world was made, he chose us...determining that we should become his adopted sons, through Jesus Christ.”  What wonderful words the Church addresses to us today through the lips of St Paul!  When we look at the vast Cosmos around us we can feel insignificant.  When we look at our own small place on the national stage or in our local community, we can feel unimportant, perhaps undervalued or even despised, but St Paul reminds us that there is One to whom we matter and have a unique value.  God has chosen you and me to be his children through the gift of grace – to receive, by his gift, all that belongs to Christ by his nature as Son of God.  From the beginning of creation he had us in mind, long before our parents themselves came to be!  Whatever else may happen to us, nothing can take this glory away from us.  We have been “stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit.”

As we move closer to the Jubilee of 2025, Pope Francis wants 2024 to be dedicated to prayer. Thus,...

This Sunday we are asked to pray for the Apostleship of the Sea and its ministry to seafarers....

Retirements: Canon William Young, Fathers Leslie Knight & John Corbyn.  Frs  James Joseph...
