The contactless payment system is now up and running.  The terminal is at the back of Kelvedon church, to the left of the main door.  There are four pre-programmed settings: £2, £5, £8 and £10.  You can also enter your own figure by touching the keypad icon at the bottom right of the screen.  Simply touch ‘accept’ and present your card.  It is a simple device that works without the significant annual charges for more sophisticated devices.  While it cannot record individual Gift Aid details, the sums transferred count as ‘cash donations’ and the parish can still claim Gift Aid as for loose cash donations up to a certain limit.
